We are recruiting for an experienced and highly organised Service Controller to join a world-leading manufacturer of construction plant equipment. 

This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a professional and fast-paced service operation where you will play a key role in coordinating engineers, supporting customers, and ensuring industry-leading service delivery.

The Role

As Service Controller, you will be responsible for coordinating the day-to-day activities of the service department, ensuring engineers are effectively scheduled and customers receive exceptional support.

You will act as a central point of communication between customers, field service engineers, and internal departments to ensure all service work is completed efficiently, safely, and within agreed timeframes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and schedule field service engineers across multiple locations
  • Manage service enquiries, breakdowns, and maintenance requests
  • Liaise with customers to provide updates on engineer attendance and job progress
  • Monitor job completion, service response times, and engineer utilisation
  • Raise and process service documentation, quotations, and work orders
  • Ensure parts availability and coordinate with the parts department where required
  • Maintain accurate service records and system updates
  • Support warranty claims and service reporting processes
  • Ensure compliance with health & safety procedures and company standards
  • Deliver a high level of customer service at all times

Candidate Requirements

  • Previous experience in a Service Controller, Service Coordinator, or similar role
  • Experience within construction plant, heavy equipment, powered access, commercial vehicles, agriculture, or related industries is highly desirable
  • Strong organisational and scheduling skills
  • Excellent communication and customer service abilities
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Good IT skills including service management systems and Microsoft Office
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to prioritise workload and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
